A MURDER-MYSTERY IS AFOOT AT THE FRAZIER MUSEUM!
SHERLOCK HOLMES & THE CLOCKTOWER MYSTERY A terrible crime has been committed and Victorian London's most celebrated detective needs your help to find out "whodunit"!
This family friendly, interactive, wildly entertaining and very clever murder-mystery will test your powers of observation and deductive reasoning. Presented in eight chapters, each representing a different location in the story, you will need your thinking cap to solve this baffling thriller! Movement through the exhibit is sequential and all who enter the exhibit will be handed a "Detective Guide" that contains a map and a place to record clues and suspects.
What is the Clocktower Mystery? It's a crime to solve and an exhibition to experience!
Upon entering the exhibit, you will be transported back in time. The sights, sounds and smells of turn-of-the-century London greet you at every turn. The first locale is the clocktower, where a murder has taken place. The other seven rooms that comprise the exhibit range from the clocktower to a seamy dock-side attic. While walking through the scenes, you are given clues to the mystery surrounding the murder. These clues-carefully placed as physical evidence among the many period objects in the rooms- are handwritten police reports, overheard sound tracks of interviews, printed summaries of the events and even tell-tale odors. Each scene is laden with clues and "red herrings".
Once you feel that you have the name of the murderer or have reached the final chapter, you will find yourself at the door that leads to a study. In the study, there is an interactive consultation with one of the characters of the story (who is played by a live actor). You will be questioned about your conclusions, and the mystery is solved in a dramatic finale.

Public Works Yard - 617 Outer Loop
Waste Reduction Center - 636 Meriwether AvenuePersons Taking trees to the Tree-Cycling sites listed are encouraged to bring containers and take home the fresh evergreen mulch. For every five trees recycled, approximately 35 pounds of mulch can be created and used to help new plant and tree growth. This mulch performs particularly well for acid-loving plants such as azaleas and rhododendrons.Starting December 26th, residents with City curbside yard waste pick up, can set Christmas trees and greenery out on their regular collection day. Residents living in the suburban areas should check with their collection service to verify when service will begin. Volunteer interests are matched with the needs of the park and its visitors.

Now in its fifth year, new participants may attend the program orientation either January 7 from 1:00 to 2:00 or January10 from 10:00 to 11:00. Those unable to attend on either date can schedule an individual orientation. Participants will be offered free classes relating to the natural and cultural history of the Falls of the Ohio. Subjects include geology, biology, archaeology, history, interpretation, and more. Certification as a Naturalist at Heart is reached after 40 hours of lessons and 50 hours of volunteer time at the park. Most of the classes are open to the public and typically last three hours. Level I classes are offered twice – Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. Speakers are park staff or invited experts. Living in the past can be fascinating. This free event will allow you to observe the ancient art of flint knapping and view some of the decorative natural rocks used in this process. Flint knapping is a million year-old process of making stone arrowheads, projectile points, axes and other tools. Today, few people are familiar with this art, and even fewer people, in remote parts of the world, knap for survival purposes as part of their daily lives. Now people collect this "functional art." At this event, local flint knapping artists will gather to swap and sell the unique rocks used for this process and demonstrate the art of flint knapping. Each year in July, Bernheim is the site of the Central Kentucky Knap In, hosted by Dale Farris, one of the region's most renowned flint knappers. This popular, weekend event includes artisans from states throughout the region and is appropriate for both children and adults.

U of L Morgan Lecture Series: Jamie Horowitz (Lecture I) Eating Architecture & Eating Local on College Campuses Observing what, where, and how people eat--a window into any culture--opens a vantage point on the culture of higher education and the history of campus architecture. Dinner was first served in 1529 to Oxford faculty sitting above and perpendicular to their students at Christ Church's Tudor Hall. In the 20th century, food services were incorporated into on-campus living quarters, where eating with one's peers anchored collegiate life socially, spatially and temporally. More recently, as cafes and snack bars complement each new or remodeled building, a distributed network of food and drink supports a more urban style of sociability on campuses, threading together refreshments with activities. With eating happening everywhere, and environmental concerns changing priorities and appetites, more students, faculty and administrators are seeking ways to use architecture and food to rebuild their commons. Among these efforts is an Ivy League college that made a commitment to eating fresh and "local" prior to redesigning their food services and student center. By engaging local producers and redesigning space for delivery, storage, preparation, service, clean up and disposal, the college improved their cuisine and the health of its regional economy. They also reinforced connections on-and off-campus, opened distribution channels and linked the interests of communities and environments in this demonstration of sustainable architecture. Admission is free. (Auditorium)
